Apple Releases iOS 17.0.3 Update to Overcome iPhone 15 Pro Overheating Quickly

Apple has just released the iOS 17.0.3 update which is a minor update. In its description, Apple said this update aims to fix a number of bugs, including the overheating problem experienced by the iPhone 15 Pro.

“This update provides important bug fixes, security updates, and addresses issues that might make the iPhone warmer than expected,” Apple said in the iOS update changelog, as quoted by CNBC, Thursday (5/10/2023).

This update also fixes an important security issue in iOS that allowed hackers to access the device and take over the device remotely.

Apple said this security flaw may have been exploited by hackers in iOS versions before iOS 16.6. So, users who don’t have an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max are still advised to immediately update the software on their iPhone.

At the end of last week, Apple admitted that iPhone 15 series tends to heat up quickly. They said this problem was caused by a combination of factors such as applications that were not configured properly, bugs in iOS, and the process of setting up new phones which required more effort.

Apple also accused third party applications, such as Instagram, Asphalt 9, and Uber, of overloading the A17 Pro’s CPU chip, causing the iPhone 15 Pro to run hotter than usual.

Apple has collaborated with the developers of these applications to overcome this problem. On September 27, Instagram released an update to its application on iOS.
