Strengthening Relationships with Suppliers, Apple CEO Tim Cook Arrives in Vietnam

KONTAN.CO.ID – HANOI. Apple CEO Tim Cook arrived in Hanoi on Monday (15/4) to begin a two-day visit to Vietnam.

Vietnam is a major manufacturing center for iPhone makers. It is expected that Cook will meet with students and content creators during his visit.

In addition, Cook will also meet with users of Apple products to better understand how they work, as reported by online newspaper VietnamNet.

Cook stated that Apple would increase its relationships with local suppliers, clean water projects and educational opportunities in Vietnam.

In the previous week, more than 60 human rights and environmental bodies sent a letter to Apple, urging the company to take action over the detention of a climate expert in Vietnam.

Activist organizations are also pushing Apple to consider the issue, given the company’s ties to manufacturing activities in Vietnam.
