iPhone users, have you updated your software to iOS 17.3 or the latest iOS version? If so, you need to know that one of the features being rolled out is called Stolen Device Protection.

Stolen Device Protection is a feature that allows Apple to protect user data on a lost iPhone.

Passcodes, aka iPhone PINs, can be obtained by thieves through social engineering methods or spying on the iPhone owner’s activities. If you already know the passcode of an iPhone, criminals can log the user out of the Apple ID on the iPhone.

Due to the discovery of this problem, Apple developed a feature to help reduce the risk of total loss if an iPhone is lost or stolen.

When the Stolen Device Protection feature in iOS 17.3 is activated, thieves will no longer be able to access important information or change user passwords without implementing the biometric authentication contained in the new feature.

How to use?

  • Open Settings
  • Select Face ID & Passcode
  • Activate Stolen Device Protection, scroll down to the bottom
  • Select enable by clicking the enable button below this menu.
  • Done, when you activate it, the Stolen Device Protection feature is active.
